Our commitment to working alongside children, families, whānau and communities to build their own skills and resources is vital. Demand for our services remains extremely high, and therefore we ensure that we focus our resources on areas where we can make the greatest difference whilst delivering high quality, effective services.

Thanks to the work of our teams across the country, we are able to ensure that more children get a better start in life. But this work is only possible through the generosity of our supporters. Together with our supporters, we transform the lives of children and their families to ensure that they can reach their full potential.

Every single day there are over 50 substantiated cases of child abuse and neglect in New Zealand communities. Aotearoa’s children deserve better and Barnardos is there to provide help and support when children and families need it most. Last year we directly supported more than 12,500 children and their families. We helped thousands more through our community development, outreach and helpline services.
